The Wall Street Journal unveiled its third annual ranking of the top 50 U.S. companies backed by venture capital—a list that attempts to identify start-ups that could become the “Next Big Thing.”
Out of all 50 startups, only 4 or 5 are B2C companies. Over 90% of the top startups are B2B, with a heavy emphasis of biomedical tech, hardware, and business services.
The few B2C companies that did make the cut:
